The BCIT Occupational Health Nursing Specialty program enables you to apply your nursing skills to a business environment. With small class sizes and faculty who are industry experts, we give you specialized education that can be applied to any industry and workplace.
Occupational health nurses work to improve, manage, and implement programs that support employee health. They collaborate with leaders, employees, community stakeholders, and health and safety professionals to support workplace health. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Applicants must have English 12 (B) and English language proficiency.

Additional Admission Requirements: | Applicants to Specialty Nursing Certificate courses should have a minimum of 6 months to 1 year of relevant work experience. Exceptions may be granted for undergraduate students taking entry level theory courses. However, a resume of work experience may be required to progress in the program. If you have questions about whether your work experience qualifies, please contact the Program Head.
