Learn all about the general operations of a modern law office, serving as a receptionist/secretary, recording appointments and court dates, telephone etiquette, processing mail, composing legal documents, and recording accounting transactions. We cover the terminology and procedures used in both litigation and non-litigation matters. We also impart important verbal and written communication skills in this comprehensive course.
The Legal Office Administration program is a 64 week course designed to enable students to work in a legal office setting. It is important to note that this is not a paralegal course. The skills learned in this program might help you find a position as a legal secretary, legal administrative assistant, or receptionist, in a number of varied settings including law offices, the court system, insurance companies, real estate, or government departments. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. A grade 12 diploma or equivalent is all you need; however, it’s also important that you are a good fit within the program. |
