Massage therapy has rapidly gained recognition and respect in all communities as a viable means of maintaining good health. Massage therapists work as part of a team of health care professionals to preserve health, prevent disease and injury, and restore maximum functional ability when health is lost.
The D'Arcy Lane Institute, School of Massage Therapy is one of the original registered massage therapy schools in Ontario teaching from the same core curriculum. The school, which has a high standard of excellence, was founded in 1986. Our first enrolment encountered five students in Massage Therapy. We now house over 100 students per year. Each instructor holds individual qualifications, including Ph.D., M.D., B.Sc., and R.M.T., and continually strive to provide the students with the highest quality of education available. Students will participate in outreach clinics in the community to gain hands-on experience treating various conditions, develop quick and accurate reflexes, and gain experience in real-life situations. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Applicants must hold a high school diploma (OSSD). If applicants do not have OSSD, they must be at least 18 years of age and pass a Superintendent approved qualifying test (e.g.CAAT test). A senior-level science course is an asset. |
