This program provides students with the base knowledge, skills, and work experience (preceptorship) to become permanently employable in a dental setting. Skill development is delivered in three areas: full range of computer and office skills, including current software applications, keyboarding skills, general office management, accounting, personal and professional development, and customer service; comprehensive dental administrative knowledge that includes an overview of dentition, tooth morphology, infectious dental diseases, preventive dentistry, oral pathology, etc. Students gain a solid knowledge foundation on which to perform their administrative duties and provide quality care; as well as on-site work experience through participation in a three week preceptorship at an approved dental facility.
Graduates of this program are qualified to work in an administrative capacity in any dental setting such as private and specialty dental offices, dental clinics and insurance firms. |
