Acquiring a Technical Communication Certificate is one of the primary routes to entering the technical communication field. The certificate is important for those whose work requires an ability to write training and procedure manuals, reports, or technical documents such as user guides and reference manuals. It also helps individuals develop a variety of critical thinking, writing, editing and graphic design skills necessary to plan, develop and produce documents. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. All applicants to the certificate program must have successfully completed Concepts and Practice of Technical Communication and Technical Writing and Editing. Once you have completed these two courses you can apply to the certificate program.
You should also have good computer skills, enjoy using and learning new computer applications, have competent oral and written language skills and be comfortable when interviewing others for information. |
