Materials engineers work to produce, process, and manufacture raw materials and finished products, focusing on the interrelationships between structure, properties, processing, and performance of materials. Spatial reasoning skills help materials engineers develop, modify, and apply processes for the conversion of raw materials into useful engineering materials with desirable properties.
As the only university in western Canada to offer a Materials Engineering program, University of Alberta graduates are in demand across Canada and around the world in industries as diverse as energy, biology, medicine, consumer products, and communications. |
