This paralegal program is designed to train students to practice law as a certified paralegal. Paralegal is a regulated profession in Ontario. Access to Justice Act defines what a paralegal can practice and what their responsibilities are. The Law Society of Upper Canada (LSUC) governs paralegals. The paralegal diploma course will provide comprehensive paralegal training, allowing students to become fully qualified and competitive in providing legal services.
To be certified as a paralegal, students who graduate from the paralegal training program from Metro College, Toronto will be required to take an examination delivered by LSUC. Practicum is a critical component in the program and is a prerequisite for taking the paralegal license examination. |
