The purpose of the program in Orthodontics is to provide the academic background and clinical experience appropriate to the specialty of Orthodontics. The program is fully accredited by the Council on Education of the Canadian Dental Association, and meets the specialty certification requirement of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the eligibility requirement of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. The 36-month program includes advanced training in the basic sciences pertinent to Orthodontics, the supervised diagnosis and treatment of selected complex orthodontic cases, the preparation of a research paper suitable for publication, and other related academic activities. The degree, Master of Clinical Dentistry (MClD) is granted by the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies upon completion of the program. Admission to the Graduate Orthodontic Program is competitive: 3 candidates are accepted each year. |
