Ready to begin your journey of world discovery? Our Spanish program gives you an excellent grounding in the Spanish language and a broad overview of the cultures of the Hispanic world and the connections between them. It differs mainly from the Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures program in that you take fewer upper level courses. This program is ideal for students taking a double major who are interested in careers related to international relations, aid, or business.
You can complete this program as a 4-year Honours Bachelor degree with a Double Major or a 3-year Bachelor degree. Registration in the honours degree usually begins in the second year, but admission may be gained in the third or fourth year provided you meet requirements.
Interested in challenging yourself? Wondering how you might add an interdisciplinary approach to your degree? You might be interested in SASAH! The School of Advanced Studies in the Arts and Humanities is the flagship Program of Western’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Unique in Canada, the SASAH Program offers an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and community-engaged educational experience. When you graduate, you receive an undergraduate Major from the School in conjunction with a Major from an existing program, such as Spanish. Learn more here. |
