Description:

A multidisciplinary Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program designed to meet the clear and growing need for highly qualified personnel trained to have a deep appreciation for the important system’s issues in manufacturing, to prepare candidates for an academic career in teaching and research or leadership roles in industrial research and development, industry and academia. The objective of this program is to impart the required multidisciplinary education and skills in an environment that fosters excellence in research and awareness of the many challenges of modern Industrial and modern manufacturing systems. The program leverages the combined expertise and resources of active researchers in four faculties/schools including the IMSE laboratories and IMS Centre facilities. Our objective is to attract the best students and to educate them in the rigors of scientific research. We provide a scholarly and dynamic environment with attention to scientific discipline, detail and accuracy.

  • International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 250] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 83] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]
Application Notes : All applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English to be considered for admission. GRE is recommended for students graduating from Universities outside of North America.

Applicants must submit both undergraduate and Master degree transcripts, and submit the Abstract and Table of Contents of their Master thesis. An applicant for admission to graduate studies leading to the PhD degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering must normally be a graduate of a recognized university with a master's degree in applied science (MASc) or the equivalent.
Applicants with degrees in related fields will be considered but will normally require strengthening of their background in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering.
