The program aims to help students acquire the knowledge, ability and attitudes necessary upon entering the workforce to correctly and successfully complete the tasks and activities necessary for the masonry and bricklaying trade, such as sizing, cutting, installing with mortar, cement or other adhesive, as well as finishing joints with the following materials: different types of bricks, stone, blocks, refractory materials, prefabricated architectural cement as well as installing rigid insulation and welding anchors.

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. Applicants should have a Secondary School Diploma or its recognized equivalent. Applicants 16 years of age on September 30 of the current school year must have earned Secondary III credits in language of instruction, second language and mathematics, or have been granted recognition of equivalent learning. Applicants 18 years of age or over must have successfully completed the General Development Test* and specific prerequisites or have been granted recognition of equivalent learning.

Latest school transcript is also required. Other documents may be requested. Applicants without the required prerequisites may inquire about the General Development Test. |
