CFC Features invests in filmmakers from across Canada who have engaging stories for the big screen. If you are a writer, director or producer with a feature film in the low-budget realm, this program offers you an unparalleled opportunity to make your movie a reality.

Designed to help filmmakers at various career levels, CFC Features is a unique and extraordinary opportunity for writers, directors and producers to advance their scripts and produce their films to achieve maximum critical and commercial success. The experience includes a rigorous development process based on participants' needs, and on the specific creative, technical and business needs of individual projects.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    Eligible projects must be not less than 75 minutes in length (approximately 80-120 pages) and intended for theatrical release, and the producing entity must be a Canadian-owned and -controlled independent production company that must own and control the property upon which the proposed film is based. Eligible applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants and permanent residents of Canada. All submissions are welcome.Applicants need not be a graduate of a CFC program, must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.
    All submissions are welcome, however, ideally projects will have all three creative principals [writer(s), director(s) and producer(s)] in place upon submission. Development will only commence once all three roles are filled. In the case of writers and directors, preference is given to those who have not made more than two feature length films. However, preference will be given to projects that name all three of the creative principals (writer, director, producer). Preference will be given to projects where the writer, director and producer have not individually or as a group made more than one dramatic feature film.
