Description:

The Duke of Edinburgh program (DOE) is internationally recognized, and according to its founder, "provides an introduction to worthwhile leisure activities and voluntary service, as a challenge to the individual to discover the satisfaction of achievement and as a guide for those people and organizations who would like to encourage the development of their younger fellow citizens." - H.R.H. The Duke of Edinburgh KG KT.

The DOE program is intended for youth between the ages of 14 and 25, and at Meadowridge School, students begin the program in Grade 9. It is a challenging program that rewards achievement in Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. Each level provides for training, achievement, and recognition in the basics of good citizenship. The program embraces a wide variety of interests, including physical activities, educational training, self-discipline, and service to the community, all of which are designed to advance the physical, mental, and spiritual welfare of youth.
