Description:

The goals of the Nurse Educator program are to prepare nurses with an enriched capacity to work across the health care delivery sector and academic settings with the skills to influence nursing practice at the health facility level and the nursing education level. The Master of Nursing - Nurse Educator option is practice-oriented and theory-based, intended to prepare nurses for advanced nurse educator roles in multisectoral settings.

You choose a thesis or practice project and are supported to identify your own area of focus (based in practice, populations, and/or phenomena of interest) to develop in-depth relevant knowledge throughout the program. In practice courses, you have an opportunity to explore selected populations in settings of interest and engage reflectively in exploring the relationship between advanced nursing knowledge and practice. Use of emancipatory pedagogy focuses on developing collaborative relationships among students, teachers, and clients.
