The Electrical Engineering program at Queen’s is accredited by the Canadian Engineering and Accreditation Board (CEAB). There are program requirements mandated by CEAB that govern the content of our program. In particular, CEAB requires that students take a minimum number of technical electives and complementary studies courses and that students take a certain number of academic units (AU) in each of the following areas: Natural Sciences (NS), Engineering Science (ES), Engineering Design (ED), Mathematics (M), and Complementary Studies (CS). As a result, it is important to plan your required (core) courses and your electives so that upon completion of all your courses you have met the CEAB and departmental requirements. To help you meet your degree requirements, you should use the degree planning spreadsheet. When you enter courses in the spreadsheet, it keeps a running tally of how many AUs you have accrued so far and it tracks the AUs in each relevant category and the number of credits.
