These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. A complete Manitoba Grade 12 or equivalent.
Applicants must be employed in a health setting as a health care aide and have a minimum of 300 clinical hours in the previous 12 months to be eligible for the credit of Work Experience 1. Upon receiving credit for Work Experience 1, applicants are eligible to challenge Term 1 Theory and Laboratory and then Term 2 Theory. To be eligible for credit for Work Experience 2, applicants must provide verification of clinical hours with a minimum of 40 hours in Geriatrics, 24 hours in Mental Health, and 16 hours in Community within the last 12 months. The clinical hours must be paid work hours and not volunteered. These clinical requirements will be assessed on an individual basis. |
