Medical Law and Ethics is a new and expanding field which offers considerable scope for interdisciplinary study and collaboration. The responsibilities of those providing health care and the expectations of those receiving it are legally defined, and as a consequence the law is increasingly involved in dispute resolution.
The programme offers a comprehensive examination of the role of law within the contemporary healthcare environment. It provides a sound knowledge and understanding of the institutions and organizations associated with medical law and the interrelationships between them. It explores the practical contexts within which medical law operates in order to develop an understanding of the theoretical and ethical perspectives which underpin it. Current and developing issues will be studied using an interdisciplinary and interactive approach which draws upon students’ participation and experience. |
