Office Assistants have many responsibilities, such as greeting visitors, scheduling appointments and answering the phone. They serve as communication managers for an office; organize and maintain files (electronic and hard copy), manage projects, conduct research, and distribute information through phone, mail and email.
This program provides instruction in business application software along with business office practices and operations. Areas of study include computer software (word processing, spreadsheets, database and information management), communication skills and office methods and procedures. Notes: Program Length Full Time Winnipeg Campus: 6 months (20 hours/week, M-TH) includes 4 week internship. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. A person who has a Secondary V degree or a D.E.P., or has received instruction deemed acceptable by the College and who meets one of the following requirements may be admitted to a program leading to an A.E.C.: - The person's studies have been interrupted for at least two consecutive terms or one school year. - The person is covered by an agreement entered into by the College and an employer or by a government program. - The person has completed at least one year of post-secondary studies spread over a period of one year or more. |
