This page explains what you must do if you wish to apply for admission to the degree Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.D.M.) at the University of Manitoba. If you intend to continue studies at some other university, similar possibilities exist. It is important, however, that you inquire about admission and program requirements at the university you are considering and that you work with the Coordinator of Student Advising at CMU to construct a program of studies at CMU that will achieve your objectives.
It is possible for students to gain eligibility to apply to the College of Dentistry within two years of study at CMU, but the rotation of the upper level Chemistry courses would necessitate that students take at least one of those courses on a letter of permission at another university. We recommend that students who hope to earn a D.D.M. plan on completing a three- or fouryear degree at CMU in order to give themselves enough time to prepare well. Gaining admission to the D.D.M. at the University of Manitoba is highly competitive. According to the Dentistry Application Information Bulletin (UofM), “In 2016, of the 180 applications received for the first year Dentistry class of 29 students, 72 applicants were short listed and granted an interview.” |
