Our mission is to encourage our students to think broadly, critically, and systematically about the core features of their democratic and global citizenship. We offer a comprehensive grounding in all aspects of politics including political theory & philosophy, domestic Canadian politics, international relations and the politics of other countries. Our programs expose students to breadth of the political world while also allowing them to focus on the issues, ideas and areas they find most compelling. Whether it is a political scandal in Canada or a democratic revolution abroad, the outbreak of war or the resolution of long-standing grievances, we strive to give our students the tools they will need to understand their world as they make their way in the 21st century. The Department's faculty are engaged and productive scholars who are committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching. |
