Explore how societies deal with economic problems and how they provide for the economic well being of their citizens. Economics will help you gain a deeper understanding of how societies decide what goods and services to produce, which methods to use in production and to whom these goods and services will be distributed. It studies how limited resources are used to meet the world's competing needs.
If you want to undertake an Honours program you will need to apply for entry and be accepted by the department or program that offers the major. Faculty members spend more time with Honours majors than with most of their other undergraduate students (a lot more supervision is required) and so they want to make sure that you will have what it takes to complete the program. To be considered for admission you must have completed all of the Faculty of Arts' core requirements and have averages of 70% in your overall program to date and 75% in all courses already attempted in the major. You may be considered if you have averages that are just slightly below these cut-off points. Averages will be calculated only on courses taken at the University of Regina. Some departments or programs may have additional requirements; please ask the relevant department or program Head for details.
