Business Information Technology (BIT) is a two-year program that provides a broad information technology foundation during the first year of studies before students enter one of the second year specialties:
Application Development builds proficiency in application development for business systems. Major languages explored include Java, C#, and Ruby. Database Management will provide students with a highly developed skill set focused on daily operation of relational databases, system administration, backup and recovery, advanced SQL, and data warehousing. Network Management will provide students with a highly developed skill set focused on network administration, security and disaster recovery, platform integration, and windows & Unix servers. Some courses are integrated with established programs such as the Cisco Networking Academy Program. Web Development will provide students with a highly developed skill set focused on developing content for the Web, including Web design, server-side technologies, introductory Internet security, platform integration, and mobile technologies. |
