Health Care Assistants provide invaluable support to the healthcare industry by caring for patients with physical or mental health issues who reside in permanent or temporary home care. Students enrolled in the Health Care Assistant program at CDI College gain experience with a wide range of continuing care sectors including home health care industries, retirement homes, group homes, hospices, and long-term care facilities. Students are taught how to respond to the physical and emotional needs of the client, promote physical and mental activity, interact with the client and family members, assist with personal care and hygiene, and handle specialized equipment. Graduates of the program become skilled communicators who are able to listen and understand their clients while providing exceptional healthcare services. Students are given the opportunity to experience a real work environment and learn hands-on from professional health practitioners, underscoring how CDI College values the practical component of this program just as much as the theoretical component. Combined with career services support, the Health Care Assistant program equips graduates with a winning formula for a successful career.
