Keyin College - St. John's

Faculty:Faculty of Business and Applied Arts
Degree:Diploma
Field of Study:Criminology
Length:64 Week(s)

Description:

Keyin's Criminology program challenges students to study and understand why people commit crimes, and the circumstances and conditions leading to crime. The program also looks at the consequences for the offender, the victim, their families, others in the community and society at large. Criminologists study the methods of responding to crime, whether through changes in policing strategies or through the development of new and innovative crime-prevention programs.
Changes to law and the way they are interpreted affect the way people behave in society. Along with these elements, criminologists pay close attention to how this affects society and how law enforcement agents as well as other agents of social control respond to and deal with certain types of behaviour.
