Description:

Gain the skills and knowledge to make a difference in a person's life. Enroll in the Addictions and Community Services Worker program at CDI College. You'll learn a range of skills to help those living with drug and alcohol issues, mental health problems and more. You'll gain an understanding of key topics related to the addictions field, including psychology, pharmacology, communications, ethics and case management. In addition, you will develop a fundamental knowledge about addiction, intake procedures, treatment planning, relapse prevention and intervention. You will also learn about working with a range of clients, including families, high risk populations and youth. In order to graduate, you must complete the mandatory community placement.

    The minimum requirements for admission to CDI College is a high school diploma, unless otherwise specified in the program outline. Where applicable, applicants must provide proof of graduation at the time of enrollment or by the first day of class. Applicants who have not achieved a high school diploma can apply as a mature student. All applicants must provide proof of age and pass an entrance exam.
