The objective of this program is to provide the student with skills and confidence needed to be employed as a Legal Assistant. The technical and clerical aspects of assisting a lawyer are emphasized throughout the program. The student will graduate with an in-depth and practical knowledge of legal terminology, drafting of various legal documents and legal office administration. Areas of law studied include: Wills and Power of Attorney; Real Estate Law; Civil Litigation; Family Law; Corporate and Commercial Law.
Graduates with a legal assistant diploma are qualified to work in a wide variety of work settings. From law offices to legal departments of many companies, the skills acquired in the program are diverse and essential to all offices.
