Description:

This program focuses on practical hands-on design and analysis of wood, steel and reinforced concrete structures. All aspects of design, analysis and detailing are taught in lecture format augmented by on-site field visits. Instruction in current building construction practices, design standards and current computer aided design / modeling technologies will ensure students have the knowledge, skills and competency to enter this labour force immediately upon graduation.

This program is fully instructor-led, allowing students to gain knowledge quickly through architectural design concepts to building construction. The curriculum includes lectures facilitated by specialized industry experts. The program also includes work experience (practicum) at a various architecture, interior design or engineering firms. Brighton College's Architectural Design and Building Technician diploma will be grant upon successfully completion of all courses.

    Applicants are required to have a high school diploma (or equivalent) or mature student status; Grade 10 Math, or pass the college mathematics assessment; and Grade 10 English or pass the college admissions test.
