The course is designed to provide students with interdisciplinary skills in physics, maths, chemistry, engineering and the geosciences. The integrated, modular nature of our courses enables you to achieve a solid understanding of geosciences whilst also tailoring the degree to suit your individual interests. You can choose from specialist areas such as: petrology, geochemistry, surface processes, volcanism, tectonics and geological mapping. As a Geology student, you can expect a balance between theory and practice. You will gain experience with technical equipment while undertaking fieldwork in order to gather and interpret complex data and appreciate the uncertainty of some geological models. There is also the opportunity to spend a year abroad at a leading partner institution in the third year. |
