The purpose of the Bachelor of Arts Degree is to prepare students for leadership in various areas of service, including pastoral ministries, intercultural studies, ministry arts, biblical & theological studies, and other Christian ministries. The Bachelor of Arts Degrees are set up as double majors in Biblical Studies and one of the following: Pastoral Ministries, Intercultural Ministries and Ministry Arts.
An internship is a requirement of most four-year Bachelor of Arts Degrees. An internship provides the opportunity for a student to gain valuable hands-on ministry experience under the direction of a qualified mentor or supervisor. A student’s internship placement must be related to the student’s program of study. Students may choose between internship options ranging from a minimum of four months (12 credits) to a maximum of eight months (24 credits). A minimum of eight credits are needed for graduation. Typically, internships are full-time placements. The process of internship placement will begin once the student has formally registered for the Bachelor of Arts degree. The Internship Director will facilitate internship placements in churches, para-church organizations, or mission settings in conjunction with the student. A special arrangement has been made with Youth Mission International (YMI) to use their TREK program as a possibility for completing the internship component for the Intercultural Studies Major. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. This four-year program is designed to build upon the foundation of the two-year Diploma of Biblical Studies. Thus, the Diploma or its equivalent is required for entry into the Bachelor of Arts Degree. There must be a reasonable expectation that the student will be able to accomplish these objectives in the prescribed course of time. Decisions regarding entrance into the degree program are processed by the Enrollment Committee. |
