Some of the decisions that are made in governments and other institutions can have a huge effect on our lives, particularly now that we live in a truly globalised world. This course aims to give you an understanding of how those decisions are made, and encourages you to take an in-depth look at issues such as conflict resolution, democratisation and development, and systems of governance.
We'll give you the opportunity to gain a critical understanding of political processes and institutions, focusing specifically on British politics. You could look at political parties, political leadership, policy-making and elections, as well as political philosophy and global political issues. Then, in your second and third years, you can choose from a range of specialist modules to gain a deeper understanding of the aspects of your subject that interest you the most. |
