The Early Learning and Child Care Diploma Program at Northern Lakes College will give you the training you need to work in this rewarding career. You will be trained to work with children from birth to 12 years of age in settings such as daycares, preschools, after-school programs, and private day homes. Graduates will develop the skills to work effectively with children with exceptionalities and will be prepared for administrative and supervisory positions within the field. |

Successful completion of a recognized Early Learning and Child Care certificate program from an institution in Alberta. Transcripts from other provinces will be reviewed on a case by case basis. |
Additional Admission Requirements: | Practicum agencies may require an up-to-date Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector) and an Alberta Children's Services Intervention Record Check of students placed in their organizations. The inability to present clear checks means a student may not be able to complete the program requirements. Students are required to sign and submit a Police Information Check Declaration of Understanding form prior to the first day of classes. Contact the Program Chair for further information. |
