This course introduces students to the therapeutic aspects of Psychology, whilst offering GBC (Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership) of the British Psychological Society. Successful completion of the course will enable students to apply fo postgraduate training in professional practitioner Psychology and would suit those hoping to pursue a career in Counselling or Clinical Psychology. In addition to introducing students to counselling and psychotherapy models, students will learn about ethics, mental health and human rights in relation to clinical work. Practitioner skills are integral to the course with a discrete Counselling Skills unit taught in the second year and with interpersonal professional skills being taught throughout the programme. |
