The English as a Second Language program helps students whose native language is not English develop speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Program content and objectives are designed to help students acquire a comprehensive range of English language skills, and are based on individual needs of the students. For this reason, ESL lessons and assignments usually focus on skills required in real life, everyday situations in home, work and the community. |
These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school. After completing an assessment interview or simple assessment test, ESL students are placed into the appropriate classes where they can work with students studying at a similar level. No TOEFL score is required to enrol in the ESL program. |
