| Programs in mathematics education offer opportunities to study how students learn mathematics through instruction focused on problem solving, understanding, reasoning, and mathematical communication. In addition, students in programs in early childhood or childhood education may choose to concentrate studies in mathematics. Certification titles include: Initial Certification (Certificate of Advanced Study; Grades 7 - 12), Initial/Professional (Initial Certification combined with a Master's degree; Grades 5 - 12), and Professional (Master's degree; Grades 7 - 12 or Grades 5 - 12). |
