Prepare for rewarding employment as an adult educator.
Students in this program build knowledge and skills to design, develop, manage and evaluate the instruction of adults in post-secondary education, business, industry and non-traditional adult learning environments. The program also provides instructors with an accredited development program leading to diplomas and degrees at VCC and other institutions.
The program consists of eight courses - available online, in class or both. We offer weeklong courses at our VCC Broadway campus. We also offer weekend classes in various locations. |

English 11 or Communications 12 with a C-, or equivalent Evidence of subject matter expertise (diploma, bachelor's degree, trades certification, substantial workplace experience) or departmental approval |
Test Scores: | - Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 70] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.0]

Application Notes : | You can request Prior Learning Assessment Recognition (PLAR) for some courses in the PIDP based on informal education, previous experience and current level of knowledge and skills.
Please contact the office and request PLAR for one course at a time. You will be directed to the Department Leader who will supply you information about completing PLAR. You may apply for a maximum of 12 credits of PLAR and transfer credit. However, PIDP 3270: Capstone Project cannot be completed by means of PLAR.
