This degree is for those who wish to work with children and young people but have not decided upon a specific career pathway. Drawing on a variety of disciplines including sociology, education, psychology, social policy and youth studies, you will explore the social, cultural, political and developmental contexts of childhood and youth from early years through to later childhood and youth. You will develop your interest and understanding of the factors that affect children and young people in today’s society, and the changing local, national and global contexts which shape their lives and that of their families and communities. You will take part in field trips, as well as work-based learning and employability modules, which are designed to help prepare you for future employment.
