As the only programme of its kind in the UK and Europe, this programme offers enormous benefits to students with aspirations of becoming leaders in the field of Mental Health and Substance Use (Dual Diagnosis). The course is specifically aimed at practitioners who are either in roles of leadership or are currently considering career options to move to such positions. This part-time programme is taught through distance learning methods.
This programme aims to develop your mastery in Mental Health and Substance Use (Dual Diagnosis) related skills and knowledge, for successful contribution to enhanced professional practice and service development within this field. You will gain the knowledge and expertise to critically understand and utilise advanced research skills and your leadership skills in service and practice development will also be stimulated and fostered.

Application Notes : | You must have competence in English language to study with us. The most commonly accepted evidence of English language ability is IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all components). We also normally require Grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. |
Additional Admission Requirements: | We normally require a second-class honours degree 2:2 or above, or equivalent in mental health / addictions or a related subject area.
A minimum of two years experience in the mental health field or in the problematic substance use field if holding a professional qualification in nursing, social work or an allied discipline.
Non-mental health professionals: we normally require a second-class honours degree 2:2 or above or equivalent, in mental health / addictions or a related subject area Three years experience in the mental health or problematic substance use field.
Applicants who do not have a degree but who can provide evidence of their ability to study at Master's level as well as three years experience in working in mental health or the problematic substance use field (voluntary or paid) may be considered.
Applicants should be aware that some assignments require them to be either working or volunteering in an appropriate environment to be able to complete them. Please discuss this with the Programme Leader if you have any uncertainties or queries. |
