Apply your creativity and keen eye for detail toward a career in event management. This program provides a practical overview of the functions, skills and knowledge required to successfully plan, organize, manage, promote and evaluate a festival, convention, trade show or special event.
Employment opportunities exist within corporations, associations, hotels and resorts, convention centres, municipal convention and visitors' bureaus, and destination management companies. As well, there are opportunities for graduates with entrepreneurial spirit to start their own business.

- Grade12 English
- Grade11 Foundations for College Mathematics (MAP4C) or Grade11 Precalculus or Grade11 Foundations for College Mathematics (MAP4C)
Applicants are required to have Grade 12 (or equivalent) or mature student status, English 12/English 12 First Peoples with a minimum of 73% (or equivalent), and Foundations of Math 11 or Pre-calculus 11 with a minimum C or Foundations of Math 12 with a minimum C or equivalent. Note: Students with Pre-calculus 12 or Foundations of Math 12 with a minimum C+ will be exempt from MATH 1100 and will need to make up the 3 credits with an elective of their choice.
If students entering the program have little or no experience using computers, they are advised to take an introductory computer course that familiarizes them with Microsoft application software. |
