The aim of this course is to enable you to study the foundations of law while exploring the social aspects of crime, punishment and victimisation which makes it highly relevant if you wish to pursue a career in the field of criminal justice (for example, the police service, probation service, Crown Prosecution Service, prison service or other related fields).
You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of legal principles and core legal concepts. As you progress you’ll be able to start focussing on the topics that interest you, particularly in your second and final year, when you can choose from a range of specialised modules. The specialised Criminology and Legal modules will enable you to explore a diverse set of criminological issues, from Criminological Explanations Administration of Justice, Human Rights and Contemporary and Comparative Criminology.
