At ONU, you’ll tackle advanced math problems and theories while honing skills like communication, leadership and teamwork, that will set you apart in graduate school or the workplace.
As a mathematics major, you can choose between one of two concentrations. The advanced mathematics studies concentration is geared toward students interested in teaching at the university level or in careers in research, information technology, finance or investment that require advanced math skills. The teacher licensure concentration is for students who want to become licensed to teach math, to seventh- through 12-graders, in the state of Ohio. With this concentration, you’ll take a combination of math and education courses and spend time observing and teaching in local classrooms.
Here, you won’t get lost in the crowd. You’ll be one of handful of elite math students and you’ll feel like a valued member of our family. You’ll enjoy small class sizes and amazing friendships with your fellow mathematics majors. Our dedicated professors will get to know you.
