In “A Dissertation on the Canon and Feudal Law" (1765), John Adams advises us to “read the histories of ancient ages; contemplate the great examples of Greece and Rome.” Just as the Founding Fathers drew on the classics to establish our great nation, Hillsdale offers the study of ancient Latin and Greek civilizations to give you a vital tool for understanding our evolving world. This program provides a comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of classical cultures and languages, and how they have influenced modern political science, religion, philosophy, and literature. Classics is offered as both a major and minor.` |
