The environmental studies major provides students with a strong interdisciplinary grounding in the areas of study relevant to environmental issues. Students will choose courses from each of three "foundation" areas: natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Research-focused courses develop their expertise in knowledge acquisition, while interdisciplinary courses encourage integrative thinking across the foundation areas. Students will fill out their program with a set of courses from one of the three foundation areas, ensuring that graduates have both breadth of knowledge, and depth of experience in a particular field within environmental studies. |
