Our Religion and Theology degree will enable you to understand and explain the ways in which religion significantly shapes the world. This course offers a rare opportunity to study the subject at home and abroad. In years one and two you will explore key issues of world religions and learn how scholars approach the subject. You will be offered optional units on various aspects of Buddhism, Christian history and theology, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Chinese and Japanese religions. You can also choose to study one of the following languages: Chinese, Greek, Japanese, Latin or Sanskrit.
After successfully completing years one and two, you will have the opportunity to spend the third year abroad at one of our partner universities. We currently have partnerships with institutions in Asia, Australia, Canada, the USA and continental Europe. Find out more about studying overseas at Global Opportunities. During year four you will explore the theme of comparative religions and take optional units that enable you to focus on a theme or pursue broader issues.
