This joint honours degree combines a full course in music with the study of Spanish language, literature and culture, providing you with a valuable skill set that is ideally tailored to the increasingly globalised workplace. Spanish is the second most widely spoken European language in the world and is the second language of the USA. Studying a modern language in the context of its speakers' history, literature, experience and outlook can broaden horizons and challenge preconceptions, including those about one's own language and country. You will spend your third year abroad in a Spanish-speaking environment, which will enable you to refine your language skills and cultural knowledge.
Both departments encourage strong synergy between research and teaching, as well as stimulating performance opportunities in music, resulting in a vibrant learning environment for students as staff respond in their teaching to new research. Our courses offer an enriching experience with exciting intellectual challenges. |
