The first year of the BE is a broad education in engineering fundamentals. At the end of the first year you can choose from Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Energy Engineering or Process and Chemical Engineering. |

- Grade12 Biology or Grade12 Chemistry or Grade12 Physics
Applicants are required to have a minimum average of 70% in six acceptable Grade 12 U, U/C or M courses including Grade 12 U English, Maths, and Lab Science or Technology. The following are considered Lab Science subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Physics with Chemistry (Joint) and Agricultural Science. Technology can be substituted for a Lab Science subject.
