The Post-Graduate Diploma* in International Business prepares you for a successful career by broadening your knowledge, skills, and appreciation of the customs and business practices among countries and globalized companies. You will confront some of the dynamic issues and challenges of international sales, marketing, finance and contracts, and master strategies to establish an enduring global presence.

MITT's Post-Graduate Diploma in International Business prepares students for a successful career by broadening their knowledge, skills, and appreciation of the customs and practices that affect business activities when dealing with other countries. Students will be exposed to a wealth of topics related to international business, confront some of the dynamic issues and challenges of international business, and master strategies to establish an enduring global presence. This program is offered in partnership with the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), global business experts established by industry and government.

With evening course times, this program is designed for working professionals to advance their careers.

*Note: MITT has enhanced its former International Business Certificate program in order to upgrade the quality of our training and graduate outcomes.

Entrance requirements

  • An undergraduate diploma or degree, preferably in business, commerce or a related discipline (includes MITT’s Post-Graduate Certificate in Business Management*), with good academic standing, from an accredited institution. A minimum of 2 years of full-time undergraduate level coursework from an accredited institution in a related field** may also be considered.
  • Demonstrated English Language Proficiency (if educated outside Canada)
  • Current resumé or CV

Preferred Admission Criteria (There may be a competitive admissions process for entry to this program; meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission)

  • Minimum 2 years of prior relevant work experience as demonstrated on resumé or CV.

*The Business Management certificate can be used as a prerequisite for admission to MITT Post-Graduate Diploma programs. Students that complete this 12-month program will receive advanced standing for the first term of a diploma. That means you will already have the credits for the first four courses, and will earn a one-term scheduled academic break before continuing your studies.

Specializations

Forum for International Trade Training (FITT)

Students who successfully complete both the MITT and FITT (Forum for International Trade Training) assessments are able to receive multiple credentials, including the MITT Post-Graduate Diploma, a Certificate and/or Diploma from FITT in International Trade, and may be eligible to receive their FITT Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) Designation, the only professional trade designation of its kind.
