You may need college or other courses in your field, an apprenticeship, several years' experience, on-the-job training or demonstrated sewing / creative skills. To be a furrier, you need several years' experience in selecting pelts. Many recent entrants have a high school diploma, and almost 3 in 10 have a trade / vocational certificate or community college diploma.
