In general, you usually need a high school diploma and previous experience in your area of work. To be a food service supervisor, you need a college diploma in food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or a related field, or several years' experience in food preparation / service. Many recent entrants have a high school diploma, and almost 3 in 10 have a trade / vocational certificate or community college diploma.
