Fibre objects and textiles are among the oldest and most diverse of human expressive forms. They are an integral component of our lives and contemporary aesthetic. In the textiles program there is an emphasis on developing skills and a high level of proficiency within a diverse range of techniques.
You will have the opportunity to engage in many areas of study, including weaving, felting, dyeing, screen printing and pattern drafting. Our textile program is designed to cultivate an environment of creative problem solving and thinking in conjunction with hands-on studio work supporting students in becoming efficient creative makers in their chosen field of textiles. |
Application Notes : | If your first language is not English, you must meet the following English Language Proficiency requirements for entry in to Selkirk College University Transfer, Diploma or Degree programs: completion of BC English 12, or equivalent; or completion, with a grade of "C+" or better, advanced core courses in the Selkirk College English Language Program and Provincial Level English 51; or submission of a TOEFL score of 213 (computer) or ibt 79-80 or better; or submission of an IELTS score of 6.0 or better; or submission of an EIKEN Grade Pre -1; or submission of an acceptable score on the Language Proficiency Index score of 4 or better. For Indian students coming through the SPP program, the IELTS requirement for diploma programs is 6.0 with no band less than 5.5. |
