Description:

This advanced certificate is designed to build skills and competencies in Spanish language for specific professional purposes, such as commerce, finance, law, healthcare, social work —for which there is a growing demand in the job market in North America, including Canada and the GTA.

In addition to language training, students are introduced to the different genre and media types of professional communication in Spanish: letters, reports, memoranda, job interview, social media, etc.

The certificate also builds intercultural communication skills required for communicating effectively across cultures and for global exchanges.

All students must demonstrate post-intermediate level of Spanish by taking the Department’s on-line placement test or by having completed GL/SP 2000 6.00 [Intermediate Spanish / Espagnol intermédiaire] or AP/SP 2000 6.00 [Intermediate Spanish], or equivalent.
